When assembling the oil routing plugs I realized the some previous owner had had some misfortune with one of the plugs, probably made the internal HEX round, drilled a hole straight thru it and made a smaller thread.
I decided to take a rotating file and grinded out as much as i dared. First I filled the oil channel inside with some clean old cotton rags, to prevent metal shavings to enter the oil channel. Also used a small magnet to collect all metal filings that stayed on the hole. Worked perfect.
Engine block upside down, and it was the 4:th oil chanel from the rear on the left side, that was damaged.
Looked quite nasty
After I had grinded away as much as I dared, I tried the 1/4-18 NPT thread tap and the leftovers from the old oil plug started moving around and after some fiddling back an forth it started to come out.
After cleaning out the hole with the threaded tap it turned out pretty good, and I was once again a happy man.
