Fuse box preparation

Time to prep the old radio box so that is will take good care of all the electrical wiring that needs to enter and exit thru it.

I had been looking around for an appropriate rubber grommet that could deal with the elongated hole, but came up empty handed and decided to make it myself out of 2 smaller ones. The larger ones became to thick and bulky.

Removed the center with a hole punch

Grinded inside flat with a grinder

2 identical pieces

Cut them appart

And glued them together with the right length.

No to chabby.......

Te elnogated hole will be cables going into the box and the large round one was a new hole that will hold the cabels going out of the box.

This was the fist layout of the fuse box. Relay taking care of the powerfeed from main powerline to the fuses that needs power as the ignition is turned on. It was a tight fit to get all the consumers into 6 fuses. When I was done and mounted the fuse box in the truck I realized I had forgotten about 2 consumers so I had to resign and put in 2 fuse holdes total of 12 fuses.
Flasher relay was first planned to be in the fusebox but as the additional fuse holder made the space tight, I decided to move flasher relay up to the backside of the gauge cluster where it once was located from factory.

Resigned and added an extra fuse holder. Also added a junction block to make sure the feed to 6 fuses wouldn't be overloaded.

Done, over to the truck
